The Russian. The delicate style of Russian constructivist photographer Alexander Rodchenko, and the Romanov family is emulated throughout the fluidity of this gown. A lace sleeve beaded with metalics and silvers makes a small reference to the densley beaded head dresses and bodices of the romanov period.
During the time of the rule there were influences from the orient to inspire the use of luxurious fabrics and adornments. This romantic mood of the russian royal family is contrasted with a constructivist style.
A photographer of the time Rodchencko inspires the use of line through draping and the use of pinstripe wool to create an array of different angles and shapes. Strong angular lines can be seen in the A-symetrical bodice and sweeping fluid curves are seen in the skirt.
With a dramatic full length sleeve, thigh high split and bare back this dress is unique and romantic.
