The traditional Japanese aesthetic -Wabi Sabi - 侘寂  is centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection.

 

Based on this aesthetic, Laura's designs aim to capture the imperfect beauty that lies within all things and challenge societies views of beauty and perfection. Growing up in the Gold Coast hinterland Laura's passion for the natural environment has been at the forefront of her values her entire life.

 

Sustainability and ethical fashion practices are core to her mission and she hopes to bring more change to the fashion industry through her designs. She believes in slow fashion, ethical production and natural sustainable fibres.

Graduating with an Excellence in Design Laura's major work incorporated this philosophy with her passion for the natural environment to create natural textures, intricate details and unique pieces that are perfectly imperfect. When designing Laura aims to create quite a simple silhouette and allow the fabrics and techniques speak for themselves. Laura Davis represents a belief in eternal style rather over passing trends, loveing your closet and creating a beautiful better life with fewer, better things.
